Eternal Limited's quarterly net profit rose 92.3% to ₹125 crore, but the result fell short of the Bloomberg analyst consensus cited by NDTV Profit before the company's Oct. 21 release.

The parent of Zomato and Blinkit earned ₹65 crore a year earlier. Revenue from operations for the quarter ended Sept. 30 increased 77.6% to ₹24,138 crore from ₹13,590 crore, Eternal reported in its unaudited consolidated results.

NDTV Profit reported a ₹304 crore Bloomberg consensus forecast for profit and a ₹23,447 crore forecast for revenue. Eternal exceeded the revenue estimate, even as profit fell short of the figure cited by the outlet.

Shares declined before the results came out. NDTV Profit reported that the stock fell as much as 3.19% during trading. National Stock Exchange of India data showed a closing price of ₹312.35, a drop of ₹7.85, or 2.45%.

Eternal also reported adjusted revenue of ₹24,621 crore, up 76% from a year earlier. It put growth on a like-for-like basis at 58%. Those company-defined measures are separate from revenue from operations in its consolidated results.

The company's B2C net order value (NOV) rose 54% to ₹35,644 crore. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization increased 197% to ₹666 crore. In the preceding quarter, Eternal reported ₹20,211 crore in revenue from operations and ₹92 crore in profit.

Blinkit's expansion has required substantial spending. Eternal puts its investment in stores and warehouses at about ₹3,000 crore for the four years ending in June 2026, as detailed in earlier coverage of its expansion. Owning inventory also creates working-capital needs and affects how sales appear in reported revenue.

NDTV Profit reported before the release that analysts were watching Blinkit's store additions and quick-commerce margins.
