Ether (ETH) fell $20 in an hour on Oct. 20, while long positions made up most of the $17.41 million in liquidations recorded on Binance, Bybit and OKX.

The asset moved from $2,464 to $2,444 during the window, a 0.82% decline. The hour ended at 11:17 a.m. ET (15:17 UTC). Long liquidations totaled $15.65 million, compared with $1.76 million for short positions.

The figures cover trading on those three exchanges alone and exclude other venues. Long positions benefit when prices rise; short positions benefit when prices fall.

The split contrasts with an earlier one-hour reading on Oct. 20 across the same exchanges. Short liquidations in that period reached $8.24 million, versus $240,000 for longs. That hour ended at 10:02 a.m. ET (14:02 UTC), when Binance spot prices for Ether had risen 1.26%. The two tallies cover separate periods.
