A market snapshot showed open interest retreating across five crypto perpetual-futures markets through 6:01 p.m. ET on Nov. 5, with Ether (ETH) recording the largest 24-hour decrease.
Ether open interest stood at $5.20 billion after falling 9.27%. Bitcoin (BTC) recorded $7.19 billion, down 7.24%, and Solana (SOL) stood at $810.9 million after a 9.03% decline. XRP's total was $426.2 million, 5.19% lower, while Dogecoin (DOGE) reached $182.6 million after dropping 7.22%.
Accounts holding long positions made up a larger share than short-position accounts in each market. Their share ranged from 73.7% for Dogecoin to 79.1% for Ether.
Funding was 0.0100% every eight hours for Bitcoin, Ether and XRP, compared with 0.0001% for Dogecoin. Solana's rate was -0.0021% over the same interval. When funding is above zero, payments flow from long holders to short holders.
The metric reflects derivatives positions that have not been closed; a change by itself does not show whether traders expect prices to rise or fall. A Nov. 2 EconoTimes five-asset futures snapshot showed Dogecoin open interest up 2.43%.
