Calls accounted for most Ether (ETH) options positions and 24-hour trading in CoinGlass’ Oct. 24 snapshot, where total open interest stood at $6.27 billion.

The reading, recorded at 8:50 p.m. ET Oct. 23 (00:50 UTC Oct. 24), was 3.75% above the previous day’s $6.04 billion. Options traded about $1.61 billion over 24 hours. Calls made up 63.16% of open interest and 63.66% of volume; puts accounted for the remainder.

The increase followed a decline the previous day, covered in EconoTimes’ Oct. 23 Ether options report. Open interest tracks options contracts still outstanding, while trading volume counts contracts traded during a set period. The first measure captures accumulated contracts; the second records recent activity.

Bybit’s Oct. 25 $2,750 call had the most 24-hour volume, followed by Binance’s Oct. 26 $2,450 and Oct. 24 $2,475 calls. Deribit’s Dec. 25 calls at $3,200 and $2,200 ranked first and second in open interest, while its Oct. 30 $2,600 call was third.

Call options give holders the right to buy the underlying asset at a set price; put options give holders the right to sell it, subject to contract terms. Calls’ larger shares mean they made up more of the outstanding positions and recent trading in this snapshot. That split alone does not show whether traders expect Ether to rise, because options can also hedge positions or offer exposure to volatility.
