Ether (ETH) long positions dominated liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX as the asset’s Binance spot price fell 1.35% in an hour, reversing a short-heavy reading earlier on Oct. 20.

At 8:27 p.m. ET on Oct. 20 (00:27 UTC on Oct. 21), the Binance ETH/USDT spot quote was $2,429. Ether was still 0.46% above its level 24 hours earlier. The hourly drop and the daily gain measure changes from different starting points.

Across Binance, Bybit and OKX, $15.9 million of Ether longs were liquidated over the hour, about 9.2 times the $1.72 million in shorts.

The balance ran the other way in an earlier Oct. 20 one-hour reading, which recorded $8.24 million in short liquidations and $240,000 in longs across the same exchanges. Binance’s Ether spot price rose 1.26% during that separate hour, which ended at 10:02 a.m. ET (14:02 UTC).
