An OKX Ether (ETH) $2,300 call expiring Sunday led options turnover on Friday, while the market’s open interest fell 12.86% to $5.63 billion, Coinglass data showed.

The reading was recorded at 7:22 a.m. ET (12:22 UTC) Nov. 6. Open interest had been $6.46 billion a day earlier, while options traded during the day totaled about $1.71 billion.

After the OKX contract, the highest daily turnover came from a Binance $2,275 call expiring Monday, Nov. 9, followed by a Binance $2,300 call with the same expiry. Calls accounted for 57.48% of daily volume, compared with 42.52% for puts.

The distribution of outstanding positions also favored calls: They represented 62.62% of open interest, while puts made up 37.38%. Deribit’s $3,200 and $2,200 calls, both expiring Dec. 25, had the largest open-interest positions. A Deribit $2,000 put expiring Nov. 13 ranked third.

Open interest counts contracts that remain active; volume counts contracts traded during a period. Calls give holders the right to buy an asset at a set price, while puts give holders the right to sell. Options can also be used to hedge exposure. The reported shares describe the mix of contracts, but do not identify which side traders took or whether a position was paired with exposure elsewhere.

The latest reading is below the $5.77 billion reported in EconoTimes’ Oct. 26 Ether options report. Among the leading turnover contracts, the OKX call expires Sunday, Nov. 8, followed by the two Binance contracts on Monday, Nov. 9.
