U.S. utility Evergy, Inc. raised its 2026 adjusted earnings forecast after third-quarter profit increased, citing customer demand and weather while outlining deals expected to add load in Kansas and Missouri.
Evergy reported third-quarter GAAP earnings of $612.9 million, compared with $475 million in the same quarter of 2025. Diluted GAAP earnings were $2.59 per share, up from $2.03. Adjusted earnings, a non-GAAP measure, were $2.58 per share, versus $2.03 a year earlier.
The company set its 2026 adjusted earnings-per-share range at $4.35 to $4.50, replacing its previous range of $4.14 to $4.34. Evergy retained its 6% to 8%+ adjusted EPS growth target through 2030, using its original $4.24 midpoint for 2026, and projects growth above 8% in 2028 through 2030.
Evergy linked adjusted earnings growth to warmer weather, demand gains after adjusting for weather, increased revenue from large customers and recovery of regulated investments. Higher operations and maintenance expenses, along with higher depreciation and amortization, partly offset those gains.
Evergy said changes to three existing customer agreements could add about 250 megawatts of demand. A separate letter of intent outlines a 1.4-gigawatt Digital Realty expansion. Evergy linked the developments to continued interest from large customers in its service area. Chairman and CEO David Campbell said the arrangements are expected to support customer affordability through the large load power service tariff.
The Nov. 5 Form 8-K also covers Evergy Kansas Central, Inc. and Evergy Metro, Inc. Its index lists disclosures on operating results, Regulation FD, other events, and financial statements and exhibits. Evergy’s board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.7225 per share, a 4% increase. Shareholders of record Nov. 20 are due to receive payment Dec. 18.
