‘Evolve Stage 2’ Updates: ‘Shear Madness,’ New Hunter

Evolve Stage 2 Hunters.전정호/YouTube

After going free-to-play, “Evolve” has seen an explosion of players. Now dubbed “Evolve Stage 2,” the developers at “Turtle Rock” are doing everything they can in order to retain the players they managed to finally attract, and the month-long “Shear Madness” is meant to do that. As part of the event, a new “Hunter” was added to the game.

The “Hunter” in question is “Quantum Caira,” Polygon reports, who is a variation of “Medic Caira Diaz.” “Quantum Caira’s” abilities include being able to deploy a “Proton Field,” which is an area of effect attack that inflicts continuous damage on enemies. Other abilities include “Regeneration Field,” which is self-explanatory and “Neutron Barrier,” which provides short-term damage resistance.

“Quantum Caira” is just one of several new additions that “Turtle Rock” will be deploying during “Shear Madness,” where updates will be released every week during the course of five weeks. These updates will include new characters, new maps, a new game mode, as well as other features that were specifically requested by players.

Other updates to the game include bug fixes, PC Gamer notes, as well as some tweaks to the balance of combat. There’s even an “Advanced Hunter Tutorial” now, for anyone who has been having trouble making the most out of the class. For those who like the “Solo Mode,” all contents pertaining to that feature have been unlocked.

“We’ve heard from all over our Community that players wanted some way to try out content before investing the time and Silver Keys towards an unlock, so we introduced the 'Try before you buy' feature,” Turtle Rock explained. “With Update 2.04, all content is unlocked in Solo mode so anyone can give anything a test run before unlocking it.”

This is great news and is expected to reel in even more players to add to the already growing numbers that “Evolve Stage 2” has managed to attract.
