A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) inquiry is underway after a report of an incendiary device thrown at an Atlanta immigration enforcement building, where police reported no active fire or injuries.

The building is used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Atlanta police said officers responded to a report of a possible object thrown at 180 Ted Turner Drive SW.

The FBI placed the reported incident at about 9:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, Oct. 20. Atlanta station WSB-TV identified the local time zone as EDT.

FBI personnel, including evidence response technicians, were gathering material at the site, the bureau said. The FBI said there were no reports of significant damage and that its investigation was continuing. “There is no known threat to public safety at this time,” the FBI said.

The building also houses the Atlanta – Ted Turner Drive Immigration Court, part of the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review.

FOX 5 Atlanta reported Wednesday that authorities had not identified suspects, made arrests or received a claim of responsibility. The FBI said it had no further details to release.
