Kylie Arellano, a Utah teenager missing since May 2025, was located in Oregon on Nov. 1 alongside a 39-year-old man who was taken into custody.

The FBI said its Salt Lake City Field Office and the Rich County Sheriff’s Department found Arellano in Oregon with the man, The Independent reported. Oregon police brought her to safety, Patel said. The man was detained without incident; the report did not name him or identify the agency.

Arellano was 15 when she went missing from Garden City, Utah, The Independent reported. A missing-person poster shared by her mother said she had communicated online with people in multiple states and faced a risk of exploitation.

FBI Director Kash Patel said Oregon police acted on information provided by the FBI’s Salt Lake City office and that the bureau would continue working with partner agencies. He also warned about people using online gore groups to exploit children, but did not say the groups were involved in Arellano’s disappearance.

The Department of Homeland Security describes gore networks as online groups that circulate violent real-world material. It says offenders target minors and other vulnerable people and may use threats, blackmail or manipulation to pressure them into participating in harmful behavior.
