FORVIA said it signed a cooperation framework with China’s Great Wall Motor to extend a longstanding supplier-automaker relationship into international markets, with work planned across technology, manufacturing and supply chains. The companies also listed sustainability and talent development among the areas they intend to address.
The Oct. 22 announcement describes the framework as an expansion beyond China. It names no countries, vehicle programs, financial terms or timetable for new work. FORVIA said the arrangement is intended to support Great Wall Motor’s international growth, but did not identify any new project already underway under the framework or report financial outcomes.
FORVIA said its manufacturing network and businesses supplying seats, clean-mobility systems, vehicle electronics and lighting could help Great Wall Motor serve customers abroad. FORVIA Chief Executive Martin Fischer said the arrangement brings together the automaker’s growth plans with the supplier’s technology and industrial capacity, including a local-for-local operating approach.
Great Wall Motor Chief Operating Officer and Chief Supply Chain Officer Zhao Guoqing said globalization is central to the automaker’s strategy. Zhao said a partner’s familiarity with China and ability to combine global operations with local service were important to Great Wall Motor’s international development, FORVIA said.
The companies have previously worked together on services for Great Wall Motor’s overseas vehicles. In 2025, FORVIA announced that its Appning brand would supply an in-car apps marketplace for the automaker’s international lineup. That release named a specific service; the latest announcement sets out broader areas of cooperation without identifying a next launch or market.
