Investors using FactSet may eventually be able to assess private holdings beside publicly traded assets under a planned data partnership with Hamilton Lane announced Nov. 2.
The companies said Hamilton Lane reference points would be available in FactSet’s performance-measurement tools. The proposed package also includes options for building custom benchmarks, enhanced risk and commitment-pacing models, and monitoring investments across public and private markets.
Hamilton Lane said its data covered more than 70,000 funds and 240,000 assets as of June 30, 2026. The announcement also describes benchmarks at the fund and deal levels. It identifies limited partners, institutions, financial advisers and researchers as potential users, but does not say who would pay for access.
Griff Norville, Hamilton Lane’s Head of Technology Solutions and Co-Head of Innovation, said: “Our clients aren't managing private markets in isolation — they're overseeing entire portfolios.”
Hamilton Lane reported $1.1 trillion in assets under management and supervision as of June 30, 2026. The firm said its discretionary assets exceeded $146 billion, while non-discretionary assets totaled $914 billion. It describes its business as focused exclusively on private-market investing for more than 30 years.
FactSet’s separate announcement on Oct. 20 outlined an arrangement with Nasdaq Private Market involving capitalization-table information for FactSet Workstation.
The companies presented the features as planned, rather than as a live service. They have not set an availability date or disclosed pricing or other commercial terms. The announcement says further information on rollout and additional functions is due in the months ahead.
