CHICAGO, Oct. 24, 2016 -- Family Office Exchange (FOX), the leading global membership organisation for family enterprises and their key advisors, has appointed Peter Roach to the role of Market Leader for Australia and New Zealand, succeeding Melissa James who continues as co-facilitator of the FOX Family Enterprise Council meetings.
FOX will also be offering a one day workshop for qualified family leaders, board members, and family office executives on February 10, 2017 in Melbourne. Entitled “Building an Enduring Family Enterprise,” the workshop will help in developing a plan for the future based on a strong, unified family vision that integrates the many facets of an enterprise family. The workshop will be conducted by Sara Hamilton, founder and CEO of Family Office Exchange.
Peter will work on expanding the FOX membership base in the region and guiding families and advisors on global best practices. He will bring to the Australia and NZ market his many years of experience in the family office sector, supported by the expertise FOX has gained from working with over 1000 ultra-wealthy families around the world.
Melissa will continue to jointly run the twice annual FOX Family Enterprise Council meetings with Peter and work in a special project capacity with FOX. Now in its third year, the Council is a peer group of family leaders and executives working collaboratively to resolve the challenges they face in ensuring the long term well-being of their families and family enterprises. The next meeting of the Council is scheduled for February 9, 2017 in Melbourne.
Peter is well known in the family office sector. He was Chief Executive Officer of the Fairfax Family Office, Cambooya Services, from 2000-2012. In conjunction with that role, he was a Non-Executive Director of Rural Press Limited, Landis+Gyr AG and other boards associated with the family’s media and private equity interests.
Since stepping down from that role, Peter continues to serve as an independent, non-executive director of various boards of generational families across Australia. In addition to Cambooya Services, Peter has also worked with one of Australia’s largest banks, developing its family office services.
“We are pleased to make available to the growing FOX membership in Australia and New Zealand an accomplished family office practitioner like Peter Roach,” said Alexandre Monnier, president of FOX. “His experience will benefit our members and attract new members to our Council peer group.”
