LAS VEGAS, July 24, 2017 -- Farsight Security, Inc., the leading provider of the world’s largest real-time DNS threat intelligence, today announced the company will launch a new, hands-on promotion, “DNSDB Speedway Test Drive” at its booth #571 at Black Hat USA 2017, happening July 22-27 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV. Farsight Security is a Silver Sponsor for the event.
At Black Hat USA, attendees will get a hands-on opportunity to learn how security professionals are revving up the speed and accuracy of their incident response investigations with Farsight DNSDB, the most comprehensive and powerful passive DNS database in the world. As part of our “DNSDB Speedway Test Drive” promotion, participants who test drive Farsight DNSDB will be entered into a drawing to win two General Admission tickets (valued $750) to 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance®, an annual event where 200 of the most prized collector cars in the world will roll onto the famed 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links® on Sunday, August 20th, 2017 in Pebble Beach, California.
For the Farsight DNSDB Test Drive, participants will enter their corporate domain -- or a suspicious domain name or IP address that needs further investigation -- into Farsight DNSDB, the world’s largest historical Passive DNS data base with over 35 billion DNS resolutions collected since 2010. Participants will have immediate visibility of past and current IP addresses and domain names associated with the domain name they entered. The winner of the prize will be announced at 1 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Farsight booth #571.
Today bad actors register and quickly discard cheap domains to go undetected. “Every corporate domain name and IP address is at risk of being hijacked by a cybercriminal, yet few organizations know how to detect and protect their valuable DNS assets. Farsight DNSDB exposes how IP addresses and domains, and their Internet infrastructure, are interconnected. With a click of a button, you can see if your corporate brand is being abused,” said Dr. Paul Vixie, CEO, Cofounder of Farsight Security, Inc.
In addition to Farsight DNSDB, Farsight Security will be showcasing its Newly Observed Domains solution, which provides zero-hour protection against cyberattacks due to new domains, as well as other products including Brand Sentry, the most innovative brand protection solution in the market today.
Farsight Security is also co-hosting a networking party with Digital Shadows and ThreatQuotient at the conference on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 6:30 – 9 PM PT. To get more details and register for this event, please visit here.
The Power of Farsight DNSDB
Security teams query Farsight DNSDB with suspicious IP addresses or domains to gain new insights about their cyber investigations. A single query can return up to 1,000,000 records pertaining to the history and configuration of the domain and its associated infrastructure. To improve the accuracy and speed of their research, investigators use DNSDB’s unique features such as time fencing and a variety of record types. DNSDB queries can be automated into existing workflows through a RESTful API, web-enabled UI and integrations with security incident and event management solutions, security automation solutions and threat intelligence platforms. It is also available as an on-premise version.
