Fashion retailers are refreshing their offers with designer collections and digital styling, while Gap Inc.'s latest quarter and ASOS' half-year results show mixed sales trends across different reporting periods.
Gap brand net sales rose 9% year over year to $844 million in the quarter ended Aug. 1, 2026, and comparable sales increased 10%. Gap Inc. reported total net sales of $3.7 billion, down 2%, with comparable sales down 1%. The results preceded the Oct. 23 launch of Gap's second Victoria Beckham collection, a 37-piece Fall/Winter 2026 range priced from $28 to $368. Gap said it is available in markets including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.
Marks & Spencer (M&S) held its first London Fashion Week show on Sept. 18, marking 100 years since it began selling clothing in 1926. The company said the collection went on sale immediately online and in 10 flagship stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland; half the pieces cost less than £50. Separately, M&S reported 16% year-over-year growth in shoppers under 35 and a 10.2% fashion-market share in FY26. It did not attribute the increase in younger shoppers to the show.
Topshop returned to physical retail on Feb. 17 after a five-year absence, John Lewis Partnership said. The brand is available online and in 32 John Lewis stores.
ASOS named stylist Law Roach its first Stylist in Residence in September, with plans for him to work on seasonal campaigns and styling advice. The retailer says its AI Stylist draws from more than 100,000 studio outfits. At a Topshop runway event in Manchester, guests could use an app for virtual try-ons and AI styling; ASOS said up to 80% of the looks were available to buy during the show.
ASOS reported that gross merchandise value fell 9% to £1,170.1 million and revenue declined 14% to £1,116.0 million in the 26 weeks to March 1, 2026. Adjusted EBITDA rose 51% to £64 million, from £42.5 million. M&S has scheduled its half-year results for Nov. 4, and Gap Inc. plans to report third-quarter fiscal 2026 results on Nov. 19.
