Yemen Today TV reported renewed fighting south of Taiz on Oct. 29, while Anadolu Agency said flights resumed at Aden International Airport after a missile attack temporarily halted service.
Yemen Today TV reported clashes around the Al-Aqroudh and Al-Masrakh fronts, as well as at Al-Rahn village in Sabir al-Mawadim district.
Anadolu Agency reported that flights were again operating at Aden International Airport after a temporary closure following the Oct. 28 attacks. The Yemeni army blamed the Houthis for the airport strike, saying two ballistic missiles hit the facility and caused civilian injuries and property damage. Anadolu Agency also reported eyewitness accounts of a missile landing at adjacent Al-Nasr Camp.
Anadolu Agency traces the war’s start to the Houthis’ seizure of Sanaa and other provinces in September 2014, and dates the Saudi-led coalition’s intervention to March 2015.
The United Nations Human Rights Office said it verified 32 civilian deaths, including 14 children, across Taiz governorate from Aug. 1 to Oct. 19, a tally EconoTimes reported earlier. The count covers the governorate, not only the locations in the latest fighting.
