Florida Rep. Randy Fine called for reviewing everyone naturalized as a U.S. citizen since 1990, saying people who lied on citizenship paperwork should lose their citizenship and be deported.

In a Monday interview on NewsNation, Fine said he knew of no allegations involving first lady Melania Trump or Elon Musk after host Nichole Berlie asked whether they should face similar scrutiny. He tied the proposal to allegations about Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and claimed citizenship paperwork fraud was widespread in the state.

The Independent reported that Homeland Security Investigations searched Omar's Washington, D.C., home Oct. 12. The Department of Justice (DOJ) said the search was tied to an active federal criminal probe. As of Oct. 27, no charges had been filed against Omar in the case, according to The Independent.

The Independent reported Melania Trump became a U.S. citizen in 2006 after spending her early life in Slovenia. The outlet said Musk was born in South Africa and became a U.S. citizen in 2002.
