First Trust Ultra Short Duration Municipal ETF (FUMB) will pay $0.044 per share on Oct. 30 after First Trust Advisors L.P. kept its October distribution at September's level.

FUMB's September distribution, also $0.044 a share, was paid Sept. 30. The fund calendar designated Oct. 21 for both the expected ex-dividend date and record date.

FUMB presently labels the amount paid per share as ordinary income. The fund will finalize the year's tax character after year-end; its calculation may include short-term capital gains or capital returned to investors.

FUMB's stated aims are federally tax-exempt income and capital preservation. In normal conditions, the fund targets municipal debt for at least 80% of its net assets; investment borrowings are counted, and the debt's interest is exempt from regular federal income taxes.
