Reports of delayed Flipkart orders during India’s 2026 Big Billion Days raise questions about delivery reliability, though accounts described by two publications do not establish how widespread the problem was.
In its Nov. 5 report, LiveMint said Priyanshu Sinha ordered an iPhone 17 on Oct. 18 for delivery on Oct. 21. Sinha told the outlet the estimate moved to Oct. 24 and the phone arrived on the evening of Nov. 4. He also said he tried to cancel but could not. His account is unverified.
LiveMint also described complaints from other customers. One buyer questioned a fee deducted from a refund after an order was canceled, while another alleged orders had been canceled without customers’ consent. These accounts are unverified, and neither LiveMint nor Amar Ujala gave a verified count of affected orders.
Amar Ujala reported on Oct. 21 that shoppers said purchases made around Oct. 8 and 9 had not arrived by Oct. 20, after delivery estimates changed repeatedly. Those customer accounts are unverified.
Flipkart’s published figures describe sale activity and the reach of its logistics network, but do not show delivery performance. The company said its 13th Big Billion Days edition lasted 11 days, starting Oct. 9, and reported year-over-year gains of about 20% to 22% in orders, units and buyers. Flipkart also said the busiest minute during the sale’s first hour had 6.3 million concurrent users. Before the event, it said its network included more than 8,200 fulfilment and delivery facilities across India. The company figures do not connect sale traffic with the reported delays.
EconoTimes previously covered record first-day user activity during a Flipkart sale. LiveMint said it emailed Flipkart for comment and received no statement.
