There are many stories yet to be covered in the Promotion Exams arc when the anime series returns for “Food Wars” season 4. The story currently revolves around the ongoing Régiment de Cuisine between the Rebels and Central. Thanks to available source materials, such as the manga series, anime fans who cannot wait any longer can know the upcoming intense cooking duels.
“Food Wars” season 4 will pick up from the end of the 1st Bout. This means more cooking duels are in order before the current Régiment de Cuisine reaches a conclusion. To recap, what’s at stake include the reinstatement of the students unjustly expelled from the Totsuki Culinary Academy and the appointment of Erina Nakiri as the new director of the school if the Rebels win. On the other hand, Soma and all the members of the Rebels will be removed from the academy and Erina will leave Rebels to join the opponents for good if the Central win.
By now, some fans might have guessed it that the Régiment de Cuisine will later need a tiebreaker. This makes the 5th Bout the most important part of the competition. If most of the manga stories will be intact in “Food Wars” season 4, fans can expect to see Soma and Erina team up against Central’s Tsukasa and Rindo at the final cooking duel.
Fans may recall that one of the final scenes in season 3 was Tsukasa and Soma’s conversation where the two declare their desire to fight each other in a cooking duel. The will come true in “Food Wars” season 4, but not until the 5th Bout.
The 2-on-2 culinary battle that occurs in “Food Wars” season 4 will not have a specific theme ingredient, but the mechanics require each duo shall prepare an appetizer and an entrée. As mentioned above, this Régiment de Cuisine is somewhat personal to Erina, which is why she will serve the judges a main dish called Le Plat Véritable — “Delinquent Daughter Style.”
The other three cooks in the 5th Bout will also whip up amazing dishes that will all impress the judges. Fans might already have an idea who wins in the end, but it is going to be a very close fight. “Food Wars” season 4 is speculated to be released within this year. However, if there are not enough manga chapters maintain the anime series’ pattern of annual release fans could also be looking at a 2020 premiere.
