VnExpress cited a Forbes real-time snapshot that placed Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) Chairman and General Manager Zeng Yuqun, also known as Robin Zeng, first among Oct. 22's biggest estimated billionaire wealth losers.

VnExpress said the snapshot showed an estimated $5.9 billion decline for Zeng, whose fortune was listed at $37.3 billion. Gautam Adani, founder and chairman of Adani Group, ranked fourth, with a reported $2.9 billion drop and estimated fortune of $75.3 billion. Masayoshi Son, chairman and CEO of SoftBank Group, was fifth, with a $2.8 billion decline and estimated wealth of $53.3 billion.

Alphabet co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin ranked second and third, with estimated declines of $4.3 billion and $3.9 billion, VnExpress reported. The snapshot included three Asian billionaires among its five largest estimated losers.

Forbes' methodology compares each day's estimate with the previous market close. It refreshes estimates for publicly traded holdings every five minutes during trading, using stock quotes delayed by 15 minutes. The figures are estimates of wealth, not evidence that someone sold assets or realized a cash loss. Because the tracker updates live, the Oct. 22 ranking represents a snapshot rather than a final tally for the day.

VnExpress also reported that CATL shares fell 3.3% Thursday, Adani Enterprises dropped 1.8% and SoftBank shares declined 6.9%.

CATL's unaudited third-quarter 2026 filing for the period ended Sept. 30 reported revenue of RMB165.220844 billion, up 58.58% year over year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB21.246061 billion, up 14.54%. Revenue growth outpaced profit growth. Those are company operating results, while the Forbes list estimates personal wealth based on holdings and market prices.
