Former Nigerian lawmaker Farah Dagogo denied authorizing a purported court challenge to the African Democratic Congress’ Rivers governorship primary after social-media posts claimed a case in his name had been dismissed.

BusinessDay reported Tuesday that social-media posts alleged Dagogo had sued the party and that the suit was dismissed. In a statement issued Monday, Nov. 2, in Port Harcourt, Dagogo said he neither brought nor authorized legal action against the ADC over its primary or another internal party matter, the outlet reported.

The dispute over the ticket followed the ADC’s May primary in Rivers State. Dagogo said he won the nomination, while the state executive led by Chukwudi Dimkpa insisted Gabriel Pidomson was the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election, BusinessDay reported.

Dagogo called on those making the allegation to provide details identifying the court, the date of any purported filing and the lawyer said to have represented him. He said he had instructed his legal team to find out who produced and circulated the report and consider steps to protect his reputation and interests. He also urged the public to stop sharing the claim without credible evidence.
