France 24's Oct. 30 edition of Talking Europe examined whether November's U.S. midterm elections might change Europe's relationship with Washington, amid strains over trade and foreign policy.
The program described President Donald Trump's second term as particularly disruptive from a European vantage point. It pointed to tariffs on European goods, claims involving Greenland, a diesel arrangement between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Trump's call for Ukraine to get a new president.
Two members of the European Parliament joined the program: Italian MEP Brando Benifei of Socialists and Democrats and Polish MEP Arkadiusz Mularczyk of European Conservatives and Reformists.
Separately, The Independent reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has connected the midterms with possible changes in U.S. policy toward Ukraine and Russia. EconoTimes previously covered Zelensky's view of the election's policy stakes.
France 24 identified the vote as taking place in November and left its effect on transatlantic ties as an open question.
