France 24 reported Nov. 3 that Donald Trump’s tariffs were contributing to more bankruptcies among U.S. small businesses as voters cast midterm ballots with the economy their top concern.

The report described a divide between strong national economic indicators and middle-class households’ experience of rising living costs. France 24 said its correspondents met with business owners for the segment.

Separately, the Federal Reserve’s September meeting minutes identified possible additional tariffs as a risk to prices. The minutes said financing conditions were tighter for small businesses, while larger businesses and municipalities generally had more accommodative conditions.

The minutes were also discussed in an earlier EconoTimes report on the Fed’s rate outlook.
