France’s latest demonstrations drew hundreds of thousands of people Saturday, as protests over living costs and school conditions continued for a third consecutive weekend, France 24 reported.

France 24 reported confrontations in several parts of Paris, where riot police deployed tear gas and fires erupted at multiple sites. The broadcaster also said demonstrations took place in Bordeaux, Toulouse and Marseille.

The broadcaster said the demonstrations were largely less violent than the unrest on Oct. 17.

Earlier, EconoTimes reported that youth-led rallies in France and Germany put the same concerns at the center of national campaigns. The earlier account also said France had announced education measures extending through 2028.
