Anadolu Ajansı reported that French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot called Democrats’ midterm victory “very good news for American democracy,” as Democrats are expected to gain more power to block Trump’s legislative agenda.
Tuesday’s election left Democrats in control of the House of Representatives and Senate, Anadolu Ajansı reported. Republicans previously held narrow majorities in both chambers. Speaking to France’s National Assembly on Wednesday, Barrot said voters, rather than algorithms or private interests, shape their political history. He described the campaign as “disjointed and acrimonious.”
Echo24 reported that Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš predicted congressional gridlock, impeachment efforts and presidential vetoes through the rest of Trump’s term. Babiš had expected the result but still considered the Democratic victory significant, EconoTimes reported. EconoTimes previously covered Babiš’ prediction of a congressional standoff.
