Provisional estimate released by the French National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) showed that French CPI should remain unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 0.0 percent in the month of November. Analysts forecast French CPI to fall -0.1 percent in November.
Year-on-year, consumer prices should increase by 0.5 percent in November 2016, after 0.4 percent in the previous month, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. A clear acceleration in energy prices and a modest rebound in food prices is expected to have contributed to the slight rise.
INSEE said services prices should increase at the same pace as in the previous month. Conversely, manufactured product prices should fall at the same pace as in October.
Year-on-year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) should accelerate to +0.7 percent in November 2016, after +0.5 percent in the previous month. Over the month, it is set to be stable, as in October 2016.
