Fundamentals to watch out for this week

This week is extremely risk-heavy with several central banks set to announce monetary policy decisions.

What to watch for over the coming days –

  • Monetary policy from U.S. Federal Reserve -

The biggest event of this week is on Wednesday when FOMC will announce its monetary policy decision. It is largely expected that FED will maintain status quo, there could be surprises in economic projections and voting.

  • US primary -

The last primary for the nomination race is in Washington for the Democrats and on Tuesday. Berne Sanders is expected to meet Hillary Clinton on Tuesday evening.

  • Central banks’ policy -

Other than FED, there are other central banks, which will announce monetary policy this week. Bank of Japan, Swiss National Bank, and Bank of England, all will announce monetary policies on Thursday. Biggest focus will be on BOJ as others are much more likely to maintain status quo.

  • US economic data -

After disappointment payroll report early in the month, the focus will turn to other key economic dockets. Most vital is inflation reading (CPI) on Thursday and Retail sales on Tuesday.
