FxWirePro: GBP/USD slips as dollar holds firm

• GBP/USD slipped on Monday as the dollar extended its strength despite softer-than-expected US employment figures.

• Data showed on Friday , US hiring momentum weakened sharply in September, with job growth missing forecasts and payrolls for the previous two months revised lower.

• Markets now price an 18% chance of a Fed rate hike in October, while the odds of a December increase remain at 81%, according to CME FedWatch.

• Meanwhile, a survey on Monday showed ​British services firms reported stronger cost pressures last month as fuel prices surged ​due to the Middle East conflict.

• The headline gauge in the S&P Global Purchasing Managers' Index for the services sector ​came in at 52.1 in September, down from 52.5 ​in August, its joint-weakest growth since June.

•   Immediate resistance is located at 1.3282(38.2%fib), any close above will push the pair towards 1.3352(Higher BB)

•  Strong support is seen at 1.3145(23.6%fib) and break below could take the pair towards 1.3117(Lower BB).

  Recommendation: Good to sell around 1.3240, with stop loss of 1.3320 and target price of 1.3180
