Foreign ministers from the Group of 20 (G20) will meet in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday to discuss economic challenges before the U.S.-hosted leaders’ summit in December.
The U.S. Department of State’s May announcement lists broader economic concerns and international cooperation on the agenda, including ways to keep markets open and supply chains resilient. Anadolu Agency reported Oct. 26 that ministers are also expected to address shared security challenges. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will host the gathering, the department said.
The Atlanta meeting is a preparatory session for the G20 leaders’ summit. The department says President Donald J. Trump is due to host that meeting Dec. 14-15 at Trump National Doral in Miami.
Moscow said logistical support for its delegation had not been confirmed and warned that this could put Russia’s participation at risk, EconoTimes previously reported.
