“GTA 6” is one of the most anticipated titles of the gaming community for years and fans of the franchise have been nagging Rockstar Games for some fresh information. However, the developers remain quiet about the sixth installment and if the production of it is at full swing within their studio.
“Red Dead Redemption 2” and its online variant have recently made its way into the world with Rockstar expanding the latter to keep gamers interested. As such, it’s possible that “GTA 6” isn’t in development right now although rumors would have it otherwise.
One of the most prominent whispers out there is the moniker “Project Americas,” which apparently means that “GTA 6” will take players on locations south of the border. Drug running will probably be one of the main missions involving this trip similar to the activity seen within “Narcos: Mexico” and “American Made.”
It’s for this reason that fans are speculating that Vice City will likely be the main area of “GTA 6,” although New York and Los Angeles are on the table as well. There are even rumors circulating on the web saying that the map of “GTA 6” will include the entirety of the United States.
However, this will likely stay as a rumor given the vastness of such a map. Even co-writer Dan Houser admits that world-building is one of the most difficult and complicated processes in creating a game. And that’s just the area. After the release of “Red Dead Redemption 2,” fans are hoping that the NPCs of the “GTA 6” will receive similar treatment.
Rockstar has once again raised the bar higher on this regard as the NPCs of “Red Dead Redemption 2” are immersive, have long memory spans, and each offers a completely new experience through interaction. There’s little doubt that the studio will take some elements of “RDR2” and incorporate it on “GTA 6.” The question is what exactly are they going to include.
That remains to be seen at the moment since the developers aren’t offering much information. As for when “GTA 6” will hit the shelves, it will probably come out sometime between 2020 and 2022.
