‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 will feature the Sand Snakes as they meet their grisly fate. Meanwhile, new set photographs revealed The Mountain’s return to King’s Landing.
According to Screen Crush, it seems that the Sand Snakes of Dorne will meet their doom in the incoming season of HBO’s widely popular fantasy-drama television series based on the novels titled ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ authored by George R. R. Martin. Although Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma) and her bastard daughters with Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) declared their allegiance to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), they would soon suffer the wrath of Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and her allies.
Ellaria and her Sand Snakes plotted their revenge following Oberyn’s death in King’s Landing. Following a botched first assassination attempt, they successfully murdered Cersei’s daughter Princess Myrcella (Nell Tiger Free) as well as Oberyn’s brother Prince Doran (Alexander Siddig), and his son and heir Prince Trystane (Toby Sebastian).
Oberyn’s paramour and her daughter Tyene (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) were recently spotted in the filming set of Caceres, Spain, as revealed by Watchers on the Wall. Keisha Castle-Hughes and Jessica Henwick, who play Sand Snakes Obara and Nymeria respectively, are yet to be seen on set. It may be because of the actresses’ busy schedules with work on other series - Castle-Hughes with Showtime’s ‘Roadies’ and Henwick with Netflix’s ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘The Defenders.’
It was speculated Obara and Nymeria will perish during a sea battle instigated by Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk), Cersei’s ally, as he attacks Daenerys’ Westerosi fleets. Although Ellaria and Tyene survive, they will be paraded on the streets of King’s Landing with the notorious walk of shame.
Meanwhile, new set photographs also revealed the return of the terrifying Ser Gregor Clegane a.k.a. The Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson) on King’s Landing. According to Screen Rant, photographs from Dubrovnik, the historical city of Croatia that doubles as King’s Landing, showed The Mountain with Cersei and Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 is expected to premiere on HBO sometime in summer 2017.
