Garlinghouse addressed XRP's potential role in a Nov. 3 post on X, saying RLUSD has stablecoin rivals of its own during a discussion of XRP's possible uses.

Crypto commentator WrathofKahneman argued that added liquidity on the network could expand XRP's practical utility. The commentator contrasted an institutional role for XRP with the prospect of broader public use.

Garlinghouse said he wants RLUSD applications to take place on the XRP Ledger. He wrote that RLUSD “isn’t competing with XRP.”

Garlinghouse has previously described XRP and RLUSD as complementary assets. On Ripple payment corridors, he said the company may use fiat or RLUSD when XRP is not suited to a transaction, as discussed in earlier coverage of his comments on Ripple payment corridors.
