Global Geo-political Series: North Korea delivers ready for war message in response to US deployment

Strong commentaries came from the North Korean side after the United States deployed an aircraft carrier in the waters near the Korean peninsula. President Trump has previously said before the Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived for a two-day visit in the US that the country is ready to handle the threat from North Korea unilaterally if required.

North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong-Un’s state-owned news agency KCNA claimed Trump’s deployment showed “reckless moves for invading” that had now “reached a serious phase”. It comes after Trump sent the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson into the Sea of Japan after several provocative missile launches from Kim’s communist nation. The last one was launched while President Trump and President Xi were holding meetings at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. North Korea has also launched similar missiles during Trump’s meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the same place. A foreign ministry statement from the North Korean government was issued and it said that North Korea is ready to react to any mode of war desired by the US.

With the US warship deployment in the waters near Korean peninsula has intensified the tensions in the region, especially when North Korea, a nuclear weapon powered state states that it will retaliate with a powerful response.
