Global Geopolitical Series: Pressures piling on Iran to make new nuclear agreement

Pressure is piling on Iran to forge a new nuclear agreement with P5+1 powers to the satisfaction of the United States and the administration of Donald Trump, who has long been critical of the Iran nuclear agreement calling it one of the worst deals made. Last week, French President Emmanuel Macron came to the United States in a state visit to try to convince President Trump to sign the sanctions waiver on Iran in order to keep the nuclear deal alive as Iran threatened to exit the agreement if U.S. sanctions are re-imposed. In the latest turn of event, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used elaborative documents, presentation slides to accuse Iran of lying to the western counterparts to the nuclear agreement, rest of the world and the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) and pursuing nuclear agreements. This provides the United States, which has shown confidence in Netanyahu’s presentation with the necessary accusation ammunitions to scrap the Iran Nuclear Agreement (JCPoA) or to add pressure on Iran to renegotiate the agreement.
