It’s six months deep into 2019 but news regarding “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 is still scarce. However, there have been clues what’s going to be the plot of the next installment following the announcement of the film “Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown.”
The OVA has adapted the story of Volume 5 Chapter 6 that has the same name as the movie. As such, “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 will not be telling the story of Noble Fencer as the film will be covering that plotline, MonsterAndCritics reported.
Having somewhat narrowed down the possibilities, “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 will likely open up with the Harvest Festival arc where everything starts off peacefully enough. Of course, this solitude will not last long as a new antagonist called the Dark Elf would be rearing its ugly head to bring terror to the citizens of Frontier Town.
In typical anime fashion, the villain will reveal that he plans to use the town’s inhabitants to summon a giant that existed from the age of the gods. But his plans will be thwarted by the titular protagonist and his noble companions. “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 will have yet another epic battle that culminated in the death of the Dark Elf thanks to the combined efforts of Orcbolg and Elf Archer.
Before the final blow is dealt, the villain will realize that the party is the same group that foiled his plans for Water Town. “Goblin Slayer” Season 2 is expected to have our hero take on more contracts well beyond his expertise. Thus, his party will likely expand to add Spearman and Heavy Warrior. Following the defeat of Dark Elf, the plot could transition into the Temple of Doom where demons and necromancers will be the main villain of the story.
With regards to the release date of “Goblin Slayer” Season 2, White Fox has yet to announce anything so far. It was initially presumed that the second entry would come out sometime next year, but the announcement of the aforementioned film has muddled everything up. Despite this, however, some are still hoping that the next installment will drop in 2020, perhaps at the tail end of the year to provide animators time to polish their output fully.
