FXStreet attributed the assessment to two Commerzbank analysts. The Federal Reserve (Fed) decision is due Wednesday as U.S. real-yield data show mixed moves.
Spot bullion fell 0.2% to $4,007.29 an ounce, while September gold ETF holdings rose to a record 4,256 tonnes.
