Google has started bringing Universal Cart to U.S. users of Search and Gemini, giving shoppers a way to save products from multiple retailers and manage purchases across both services.

Items saved in either service appear in the shared cart, even when they come from different stores. Google says the feature can notify shoppers of price reductions or restocked products, show promotional codes and highlight benefits linked to cards in Google Wallet.

The cart uses Google’s Shopping Graph, a catalog of more than 60 billion product listings that the company says is refreshed continually. At participating stores, shoppers can use Google Pay or finish checkout on the retailer’s website. Google named Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair and merchants on Shopify among those supporting checkout. Each purchase stays with the merchant, which sends the order confirmation and provides customer support.

Google announced Universal Cart on May 19 and then expected U.S. access through Search and Gemini during the summer. The Oct. 15 rollout announcement gave no schedule for YouTube or Gmail, which Google had identified as future additions in May.
