Grasim Industries shares fell about 1.1% in early Friday trading on India's National Stock Exchange, with Upstox data putting the Indian conglomerate's stock near its session low after a ₹32.70 decline from the previous close.
Upstox market data recorded Grasim at ₹2,900.10 at 12:47 a.m. ET (04:47 UTC) Friday, Oct. 30. That was ₹32.70, or about 1.1%, below the previous session's ₹2,932.80 close. The stock opened at ₹2,925 and traded between ₹2,900.10 and ₹2,928.90, its session low and high, respectively. Upstox listed trading volume at 37,671.
The Economic Times liveblog showed ₹2,907.30 at 12:42 a.m. ET (04:42 UTC), five minutes before the Upstox reading. It also gave ₹2,900 as the previous close. Upstox records ₹2,932.80 for Oct. 29 and ₹2,900 for Oct. 28, making the liveblog's prior-close figure inconsistent with the listed Oct. 29 close.
The Economic Times also reported short-term technical readings. At 11:49 p.m. ET Thursday (03:49 UTC Friday), its liveblog put Grasim at ₹2,916, just below a 20-day simple moving average of ₹2,916.09. An update at 12:27 a.m. ET Friday listed ₹2,926, down 0.24%, and a seven-day exponential moving average of ₹2,918.44. These readings were snapshots taken at different times during the session.
The differing records echo an earlier report on conflicting Grasim share readings, which compared the Economic Times liveblog with another market tracker.
Grasim's official profile gives 1947 as its incorporation year and lists cellulosic fibers, chemicals, building materials and financial services among its business areas. The profile also places the company within the Aditya Birla Group. The market updates did not identify a reason for the decline.
