Grayscale is opening token-funded subscriptions across 10 crypto investment products, giving eligible investors a route into its funds without first converting their holdings to cash, but only through intermediaries.
The approximate minimum contribution is $80,300+ for the Grayscale Solana Staking ETF (GSOL) and $364,800+ for the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF (BTC). Grayscale based the figures on market prices on Oct. 20 and says they can change without notice. The products cover Avalanche (AVAX), Bitcoin (BTC), Chainlink (LINK), Ether (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Hyperliquid (HYPE), Solana (SOL), Sui (SUI), XRP and Zcash (ZEC).
Investors must arrange primary-market subscriptions through an authorized participant or an intermediary connected to one. Product availability and terms vary, and facilitator fees apply. Grayscale did not specify fee amounts or detail the full eligibility criteria in its announcement.
Grayscale says contributing tokens may reduce the work involved in holding them directly and may lower execution costs. “As digital assets mature, investors are seeking more secure and efficient ways to manage their crypto holdings,” said Steve Vanourny, Grayscale’s head of index. The firm says resulting shares may be held in brokerage or retirement accounts and could be used as collateral, depending on the circumstances.
The process does not guarantee that tokens move into a product without a sale or swap: Grayscale warns that some transfers may require one. Its disclosure also flags slippage, failed transfers or custody, shares trading above or below net asset value, and uncertain tax treatment. Investors bear the disclosed risks.
The subscriptions build on a regulatory change that first applied to product intermediaries. On July 29, 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved in-kind creations and redemptions by authorized participants for affected spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded products, allowing crypto assets to be exchanged for shares instead of requiring cash for those transactions. A Feb. 6, 2026, filing shows the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF had amended agreements with Jane Street Capital, LLC and Virtu Americas LLC to permit in-kind creations and redemptions. Grayscale’s latest announcement covers eligible investor subscriptions through intermediaries; it does not announce direct redemptions for investors.
