Grupo Televisa and Fintech Holdings Inc. plan $800 million in combined equity for their proposed purchase of AT&T’s Mexico wireless business, with a five-year loan covering the balance of the $2 billion deal.

Grupo Televisa outlined a funding structure with $400 million in equity from each partner and a five-year nonrecourse loan for the other $1.2 billion. Televisa currently anticipates no additional equity contributions, and the partners are slated to hold equal stakes.

The Oct. 13 sale agreement with AT&T calls for a $2 billion cash payment at closing; its terms allow adjustments and additional benefits.

Televisa expects the purchase to improve its competitive position through fixed-mobile convergence, bundled services, cross-selling opportunities and operating synergies.

Mexican regulatory approval remains pending. AT&T expects the first-quarter 2027 closing.
