Not many economic dockets scheduled for today and all with low to medium risks associated.

 

Data released so far –

 

  • Australia - Westpac consumer confidence rose 8.5% from prior -4%. Home loans declined -0.9%. Investment lending for homes rose 1.5%.

 

Upcoming –  

 

  • Japan – Coincident index and leading economic index will be released at 5:00 GMT.

 

  • UK – Manufacturing and Industrial production will be released at 8:30 GMT. Prior -1.9% and -0.4% respectively. NIESR GDP estimate will be released at 14:00 GMT. RICS house price balance will be released at 23:00 GMT.

 

  • Portugal – CPI and unemployment will be released today.

 

  • United States – MBA mortgage applications will be released at 11:00 GMT. EIA will release weekly crude oil inventory report at 14:30 GMT.

 

  • New Zealand – Business PMI for April will be released at 22:30 GMT, followed by food price index at 22:45 GMT.

 

  • Japan – Trade balance will be published at 23:50 GMT. Prior ¥425 billion.
