Data released so far

  • Australia - Westpac consumer confidence dropped -5.6% for September, compared to 7.8% rise prior. Home loans grew by 0.3% in July, investment lending for homes grew by 0.5%.
     
  • Japan - Consumer confidence index for August came at 41.7 compared to 40.3 prior. Preliminary reading shows -16.5% y/y drop in Machine tools orders.
     
  • UK - Manufacturing production dropped -0.5% in July and industrial production dropped by -0.4%. UK trade balance deteriorated to -£3.37 billion.
     
  • Greece - Industrial production dropped by -1.6% y/y in July. Consumer price index dropped by -1.5% in August.

  • US - MBA mortgage applications to be released at 11:00 GMT, followed by Redbook index at 12:55 GMT and Jolts job openings at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • Canada - Housing starts to be released at 12:15 GMT, followed by building permits at 12:30 GMT. Bank of Canada to announce monetary policy decision at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • UK - NISER GDP estimate to be released at 14:00 GMT. RICS house price balance at 23:00 GMT.
     
  • New Zealand - RBNZ will announce monetary policy decision at 21:00 GMT, followed by electronic card retail sales at 22:45 GMT.
     
  • Japan - Machinery orders to be released at 23:50 GMT along with Domestic corporate goods price index.
     
  • Auctions - US will auction 1 month bills at 15:30 GMT and 10 year note at 17:00 GMT.
