BlackRock’s iShares High Yield Muni Active ETF (HIMU) set a lower November distribution of $0.197929 per share, reducing the income payment from October for shareholders.
BlackRock lists payment for Thursday, Nov. 5, and gives Monday, Nov. 2, as both the record and ex-dividend date. October’s distribution was $0.200853 per share and was paid Oct. 6. The November breakdown lists no amounts for short- or long-term capital gains or return of capital.
BlackRock says HIMU aims to generate income exempt from federal income taxes. BlackRock’s mandate puts at least four-fifths of the fund’s net assets, together with investment borrowings, into municipal bonds in ordinary market conditions. The stated income category does not determine each shareholder’s ultimate tax treatment.
Another BlackRock municipal-bond fund, the iShares Short Maturity Municipal Bond Active ETF (MEAR), also has a Nov. 5 payment; EconoTimes previously covered MEAR’s November distribution.
