Warehouse receipts are planned for a 2027 phase of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing’s blockchain-based asset platform, extending the project beyond a planned carbon-credit trading test.

The system is intended to support multiple tokenized asset types. Carbon credits are slated for pilot trading, but no year is specified for that test.

Receipts in the later phase would be kept in Hong Kong. The warehouses backing them would be recognized by the London Metal Exchange (LME).
