Global digital asset leader HashKey Capital and Web3 news outlet Decrypt today announced the formation of Layer East Media, a media network that unites leading Web3 publications across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Layer East Media aims to assist Western Web3 projects in navigating and thriving within the diverse and complex markets of APAC.
The Layer East Media alliance is the largest Web3 media network in APAC, comprising prominent media outlets from multiple markets. Members include Decrypt (Europe & US), Crypto Times and Coinpost (Japan), CoinNess and Tokenpost (Korea), Coin68 (Vietnam), Cryptomind Group and Bitcoin Addict (Thailand), Coinvestasi (Indonesia), and various Chinese publications, including PANews, Foresight News, and Wu Blockchain.
Officially launching with an MOU signing ceremony on November 10 at Thailand Blockchain Week 2024, Layer East Media’s mission is to help Western Web3 projects understand and access APAC’s unique business landscapes, addressing cultural and language differences critical to successful engagement in the region.
“Launching this alliance of Asia’s top Web3 media outlets marks a step toward reshaping media’s role in the Web3 era,” said Ilan Hazan, co-founder of Decrypt. “By uniting top crypto publications across Asia, Layer East Media is at the forefront of a collaborative, transparent, and innovative media model.”
Siya Yang, Head of Marketing at HashKey Capital, underscored the transformative impact of Layer East Media’s approach. “This moment marks the beginning of a powerful collaboration, elevating APAC’s Web3 influence globally while supporting pioneering Western projects in digital assets and decentralized technologies,” she said.
Alliance Principles and Benefits
Layer East Media is grounded on three core principles: increasing transparency, empowering innovators and investors with insights and expertise, and fostering collaboration to drive innovation in Web3. Council members, chosen for their journalistic integrity and reliable news coverage, benefit from exclusive content, industry insights, collaborative initiatives, and expanded reach across APAC markets.
Through the alliance, Western Web3 companies will gain direct media access to key markets, enabling broader engagement with APAC’s rapidly growing digital asset community. Starting in 2025, Layer East Media will participate in major crypto and fintech events globally and collaborate with venture capital firms to expand its influence.
The alliance is open to other APAC media outlets that share its vision and commitment to advancing Web3. Interested outlets can contact HashKey Capital at [email protected].
