Kevin Hassett, director of the White House National Economic Council, praised Intel’s latest results as encouraging for the semiconductor industry, while the company projected lower revenue in the current quarter.
Intel reported third-quarter revenue of $16.5 billion, up 21% from a year earlier. Its fourth-quarter forecast ranges from $15 billion to $16 billion, with the high end $500 million below the latest quarter. EconoTimes previously covered Intel’s third-quarter results and revenue outlook.
The comparison shows year-over-year growth alongside a lower sequential sales forecast. Intel Chief Financial Officer David Zinsner said the PC slowdown was expected to continue through at least the first half of 2027, as reported in EconoTimes’ coverage of Intel’s outlook.
The 21% increase compares third-quarter revenue with the year-earlier period; the forecast comparison is between consecutive quarters.
