WASHINGTON, Jan. 04, 2017 -- Hausfeld has named Jeannine M. Kenney a partner in the global claimants’ law firm. The firm, headquartered in Washington, DC, has offices in Philadelphia, New York, Boston, San Francisco, London, Berlin, and Brussels.
Ms. Kenney joined the firm in 2009 and works primarily in Hausfeld’s antitrust practice. She has played a leading role in several of the firm’s antitrust matters, where her efforts have yielded sterling results for class members, including the multi-district litigation in In re Fresh and Process Potatoes Antitrust Litigation (No. 12-md-2186, D. Idaho), which resulted in a global settlement of nearly $20 million with valuable injunctive relief, and In re Processed Egg Products Antitrust Litigation (No. 08-md-2002, E.D. Pa.), in which a litigation class has been certified, plaintiffs’ summary judgment motion eliminated a key defense, and more than $130 million in settlements have been obtained to date.
Ms. Kenney also serves as counsel to the class members in several pending complex antitrust matters, including In re Domestic Airline Travel Antitrust Litigation (No. 15-mc-1401, D.D.C.) and In re Foreign Exchange Benchmark Rates Antitrust Litigation (No. 13-cv-7789, S.D.N.Y.). In addition to representing plaintiffs in antitrust matters, she represented a defendant in Precision Associates v. Panalpina World Transport (Holding) Ltd., et al. (No. 08-cv-42, E.D.N.Y.), securing a favorable result for the client. Ms. Kenney was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Antitrust in Pennsylvania in both 2015 and 2016.
Ms. Kenney has also gained recognition for her skill and expertise in e-discovery, speaking at educational conferences such as the Georgetown University Law Center’s E-discovery Academy, where she has also served as a faculty coach, and its annual Advanced E-discovery Institute, and co-authoring a chapter in the American Bar Association’s recently released Perspectives on Predictive Coding. Ms. Kenney also advises the firm’s litigation teams in all matters relating to e-discovery.
Prior to obtaining her juris doctor, Ms. Kenney worked for many years in public policy, serving as a legislative assistant for two U.S. senators and as a consumer advocate with Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports, where she worked in the fields of agriculture, telecommunications, food safety, and financial privacy, among other policy areas.
“Jeannine brings to the firm her invaluable legal knowledge and sharp litigation skills while also offering the insights, experience, and wisdom from her nearly two decades in public policy and consumer advocacy,” said firm Chairman Michael D. Hausfeld. “The combination brings excellent results to the firm, our clients, and the legal community. We are pleased to count her among our partners.”
A magna cum laude graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, where she served on the Georgetown Law Journal, and a former clerk to the Honorable Cynthia M. Rufe (E.D. Pa.), Ms. Kenney is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
