It would seem that “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 10 is one of the darkest episodes for McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) with the character seeing his past come back to bite him. It comes in the form of assassins sent after by someone who he did wrong when he was still a SEAL Team member. The result is the death of some of his closest friends and allies.
The title for “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 10 is “Pio ke kukui, po'ele ka hale (When the Light Goes Out, the House is Dark).” It might be leaning towards “Duh!” territory, but it’s apt enough for the plot of the episode. It basically involves McGarrett getting targeted by assassins who were sent by the son of a man he killed along with his friends during his days as a SEAL Team operative.
The synopsis for “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 10 says this clearly enough and as a departure from how TV shows are normally presented, the story really is quite straightforward. Through the duration of the episode, McGarrett tries to figure out who has been sent after him and his team. Of those that he worked with in the past, only two others managed to survive to help him out.
Unfortunately, by the end of “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 10, only McGarrett himself was left alive. In the final standoff in his ranch, one of his former teammates and Joe White (Terry O'Quinn) died. At least he was able to learn who had sent the assassins after them and why.
With “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 10 being out right now, viewers can watch it and see the events take place for themselves. On that note, it isn’t as if this episode will have any kind of impact on the future of the show or McGarrett.
