Marvel sure knows how to get their fans excited. The appearance of Agent Carter in episode 3 of the Agents of SHIELD raised speculations that Hayley Attwell herself will be making an appearance in season 7, of course as none other than Agent Carter.
In episode 3,—Alien Commies from the Future!, Simmons had pretended to be Margaret 'Peggy' Carter so she and Coulson could sneak into the base and find out who the Chronicoms have been impersonating. And, while we do see Agent Carter, of course, it wasn't Hayley. It was what it was, Simmons pretending to be Agent Carter.
But enough with the speculation because Hayley herself has taken to her Instagram to put an end to rumors that she is part of the final season of the Agents of Shield.
Thus, fans should already be satisfied with the Agent Carter cameo and should stop taking it as a prelude that Hayley herself will be making an appearance in the final season.
With or without Hayley, the Agents of SHIELD will still be worth watching especially as aside from recalling people from the past, season 7 has explained a lot of things about how SHIELD will be saving the future by making us understand the events of its past. And, it really takes us there in its past.
And, while it promises more visits to its history, it is sure to come up with plot twists here and there.
As much as fans and viewers might want Hayley as Agent Carter to make an appearance on the show, it doesn't seem possible at this point. Hayley herself has denied it, or it could also be that she is just trying to keep her appearance secret. No other way to find out but to watch Agents of SHIELD season 7 every Wednesday, 10 p.m. on ABC.
